Whitening
Tooth whitening
is one of the quickest and easiest methods
for improving your smile.
Years of drinking
coffee and tea or smoking may have caused
your teeth to discolour. Sometimes tooth discoloration
is caused by illness, medication, trauma or
injury.
Once you have
decided that you would like to improve the
whiteness of your teeth, we will determine
if you are a good candidate for tooth whitening.
Before we go ahead we will check the strength
and condition of your teeth.
Tooth whitening
is actually a bleaching process and this can
be accomplished by one of two methods. We
will recommend the best one for you based
upon the amount of discoloration you are experiencing
and the strength of your teeth. Our whitening
programs, whether passive or active, are far
more effective than over-the-counter products
or whitening toothpastes.
Passive
Tooth Whitening:
This procedure is performed at home with periodic
visits to our office to ensure the treatment
is professionally supervised and your teeth
and gums remain healthy. A customized bleaching
tray is made for you, which holds the whitening
solution. Depending upon the degree of discoloration,
you will undergo a prescribed treatment plan
of a few days to a few weeks.
